Couple connection workshops

Towards compassion, connection and awareness

Culture touches many aspects of a couple's life

To what degree should the extended family be involved in the relationship? How much (public) display of affection is appropriate? Should you say things straight to the point or rather indirectly? Should your child be raised religiously? The food from which culture are you going to eat?

The challenge is that most assumptions and values are subconscious and are often not openly discussed. This can lead to a lot of tension and misunderstandings. â€‹

What will you learn as a participant?

The workshop will contain plenty of interactive exercises for you and your partner. I invite you to reflect on your values, cultural upbringing and how they affect your relationship. You will learn several key questions that help you grow more understanding for each other’s habits and attitudes.

As a couple you will be able to explore what is behind certain behaviours or situations that repeatedly cause confusion or tension. For example, when you live in the country of origin of one partner it is important to find a way to still integrate both cultures into the relationship.

During the workshop I will engage with the specific situations and doubts of you in a flexible way. This makes it easier for you to use your new skills and insights in everyday life.

How can the workshop change my day-to-day life?

  • improved ability to self-reflect how your culture shapes you

  • communicate in a clear and compassionate way with your partner

  • enhance understanding of your partner´s values

  • use strategies to quicker resolve misunderstandings
